On this page we will try to cover words and phrases that are and/or were used when dealing with the supernatural/paranormal. Some of these may disagree with what several of you have been raised with. Our way is to educate/enlighten not to get into debates.

  • God/gods - this terminology has been used/misused/abused. Not many people realize that this term has been used to cover other words. Though god(s) wasn't the terminology used by other people of different ethnicity, nationality or belief. Even in Christianity this term was once used instead of the word angel. God/gods was used in Greek especially, though it was a word meaning lesser god(s) or god like. If texts (like the Bible) were translated word for word exactly, many people would be upset. (just to let everyone know that I am not attacking the Christian faith because I was raised South Baptist, my maternal grandfather was a deacon and one ancestor was a traveling preacher until one church called for him to stay. I and my wife are ordained ministers.)
  • Demons/Evil ones/Chaotic spirits - These names, descriptions, and or titles are just some words used in many cultures to describe beings that reek havoc with individuals, families, and groups. In Christianity and some other beliefs  demons are known as the fallen ones, fallen angels who fought against the army of the Most High (which they were once a part of). These former angels chose to join Lucifer (Satan or what other name(s) he is known by) in a battle we have been told was for Lucifer to take over the godhead and because was believed to have given his love to Him newest creation - man. Some of them felt that He put man over angels with attention and love. Man with his free will had gone against Yahweh while until their uprising his loyal and loving creations. Some beliefs see them as creatures made from energies of the earth and were once able to form bodies from things of nature. They became angry with man because he refused to follow the laws of nature which all beings were to follow and began to destroy nature by stealing the home of all the animals, were taking more than their need and became wasteful with the waste polluting and killing more of nature's living creatures (the bird of the air, the fish of the water, the land animals which run, crawl and dig, and also the plants from the grasses to the trees all cried out). There are more beliefs which have their view about demons.
  • Documentation - This refers to recording what has happened while events have taken place so later on when investigators come to the property you will have an accurate account of all events without details being lost or something being added at the wrong time or place. Not everyone has photographic memories and we don't expect them to, but sometimes when accounts are exchanged between those who have witnessed the events prior to the investigators arriving sometimes crossing of facts happens between those accounts. Documentation is also historical records, newspapers, journals, civil documents, maps and any other written or with the advent of electronic keeping of records e-files. Sometimes there aren't records to be found because the courthouse and/or it records storage area has a fire (this includes other places such as hospitals, funeral homes, or any place records which could be helpful were kept had fires). Some places whether towns or non-corporate communities loose records due to floods. Many places are destroyed by storms (tornadoes, hurricanes, etc.) and/or their resulting aftermaths which would include fires, flooding, vandalism, thefts and any of the other things that happen when people feel they must do after these storms cause the disruption of what would be called normal. Genealogists run into these problems quite often and today paranormal investigators find the same problems. This makes verifying any historical proof in some regions a problem which would end up taking oral history as a possible means of facts. In some cases usually war can be the reason records of different sources are destroyed either by the weapons of war or when fires are started at the locations where they are kept or the fires spread to thes locations from other locations.
  • Poltergeist - A noisy and usually mischievous ghost who is responsible for unexplained noises. Also at times for causing damage to or moving items to other locations. It has at times been given credit for items on top of each other or in an unusual way. Poltergeists and demons both are usually the ones who are blamed for leaving marks on people and/or during damage to household items.
